Total
Fitness
Total Fitness is a 1 hour and 15 minute class
that will focus on 3 components of fitness: cardiovascular
conditioning, muscle strength and endurance, and flexibility.
Emphasis will be on the workhorse muscles of the body that
are used frequently during the course of activities of daily
living, and therefore at higher risk of injury. Several
types of equipment will be used including resistance tubing,
stability balls, steps, weighted bars and free weights or
kettlebells. Please wear supportive athletic shoes and bring
water and a towel/mat for your comfort during floor work.

Circuit
Training
This is the most efficient way to get a workout that addresses
cardiovascular and strength. We will alternate between doing
an aerobic activity and a strength training activity, using
a circuit format. All levels of fitness will be accommodated
using walking, step training, rebounding and hi/lo aerobics,
in a combination that works for each participant to accomplish
their best effort at their level.

Pilates
Matwork, Level 1
This is an hour class of floorwork techniques created by Joseph
Pilates. Pilates matwork is based on core muscle work done
fluidly through a series of numbered exercises, and focuses
on the abs, hips, and lower back. Plus the addition of up
to date flexibility exercises. Linda's background, both as
a dancer and as 25 year faculty at UCSD and Miramar Colleges,
provides a sound basis for this training. Bring
a mat.
$50.00 prepaid for Tuesdays in March.
Prepaid students can take Saturdays in March for $8.00
or all others $12.00 Walk-in

Zumba®
Zumba, fitness with a Latin-jazz influence, returns to Valley
Fitness Studio in November. Instructor Deb Heath will be
showcasing this class at a workshop at the studio on Saturday,
November 21, from 10:00 - 12:00 noon. Please sign up to
attend and find out what Zumba is all about! Deb will explain,
demonstrate and conduct Zumba classes so you can try it
out and decide for yourself if it isn't the most fun you've
had exercising, hands down. Here's a description of Zumba,
taken directly from their website: "The Zumba program fuses
hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create
a one-of-a-kind fitness program that will blow you away.
The routines feature interval training sessions where fast
and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to
tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. Add some Latin
flavor and international zest into the mix and you've got
a Zumba class! "
