Total
Fitness is a 1 hour and 15 minute class that will focus on
3 components of fitness: cardiovascular conditioning, muscle
strength and endurance, and flexibility. Emphasis will be
on the workhorse muscles of the body that are used frequently
during the course of activities of daily living, and therefore
at higher risk of injury. Several types of equipment will
be used including resistance tubing, stability balls, steps,
weighted bars and free weights or kettlebells. Please wear
supportive athletic shoes and bring water and a towel/mat
for your comfort during floor work.

Pure
Strength, Renewed Stability
This 60 minute
class will focus on improving your performance in any sport,
active hobby, or just the ADL’s (Activities of Daily Living).
Your muscle strength and endurance begin to decrease as
you age, which assuredly makes daily tasks, hobbies and
sport performance more difficult. Learn how to keep your
muscle strength and endurance, while improving your balance.

Pilates
Matwork, Level 1
This is an hour and fifteen minute class of floorwork techniques
created by Joseph Pilates. Pilates matwork is based on core
muscle work done fluidly through a series of numbered exercises,
and focuses on the abs, hips, and lower back. Plus the addition
of up to date flexibility exercises. Linda's background,
both as a dancer and as 25 year faculty at UCSD and Miramar
Colleges, provides a sound basis for this training.
Bring
a mat.

Circuit
Training
This is the most efficient way to get a workout that addresses
cardiovascular and strength. We will alternate between doing
an aerobic activity and a strength training activity, using
a circuit format. All levels of fitness will be accommodated
using walking, step training, rebounding and hi/lo aerobics,
in a combination that works for each participant to accomplish
their best effort at their level.
